Good Cartel is looking for a skilled Senior Cook / Section Chef to join our busy Broome kitchen.
This position focuses on batch cooking, recipe production, and preparing service portions using modern commercial kitchen equipment.
You’ll play a key role in keeping the kitchen running efficiently by producing our core recipes, portioning products for service, and maintaining consistency across multiple sections.
This is a hands-on cooking role suited to someone who takes pride in precision, quality, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities
* Cook and portion established recipes in volume
Operate and maintain *Combi oven, brat pans, grill, and vacuum sealer
* Complete mise en place for service and batch preparation
* Label, vac-seal, and store food safely and efficiently
* Support short-order production during peak service when required
* Maintain food safety, cleanliness, and product consistency
* Communicate prep needs and progress with the Head Chef and management team

What We’re Looking For
* A real cook – proven. Someone with solid, hands-on experience and pride in their craft
* 2–3+ years’ experience as a Cook, Section Chef, or equivalent role
* Proven skill in batch cooking and recipe preparation
* Organised, efficient, and detail-oriented
* Calm and cooperative under pressure in a team environment
* Understanding of HACCP, food safety, and portion control standards
* Must currently live in Australia
* Must be ready to relocate to Broome and start ASAP

Key Details
* Full-time position (38 hours per week)
* Salary: $65,000 – $72,000 per annum (based on experience)
* Contract: Ongoing, with 1-month probation
* Start Date: Immediate
* Sponsorship: Available after probation in the Cook category under the Kimberley DAMA Labour Agreement. Candidates must be suitably qualified to apply.
