The Leichhardt Hotel is a well-established country pub known for delivering great quality pub meals in a friendly, relaxed environment. We’re currently seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to lead our kitchen team and maintain the high standards our locals and visitors expect.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone who takes pride in their food, enjoys working with a close-knit team, and thrives in a regional hospitality setting.
About the Role
You will be responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food is delivered efficiently and consistently. Duties include:
Leading and mentoring a small kitchen team, including kitchen hands
Preparing and serving high-quality pub-style meals
Managing stock, ordering, and kitchen cost control
Maintaining cleanliness and compliance with food safety regulations
Working collaboratively with management to ensure smooth service
Preparing between 60–100 meals daily during peak service times
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in a Head Chef or senior kitchen role, ideally in a pub or bistro setting
Strong leadership with a positive attitude and the ability to work well with kitchen hands and junior staff
A team player who thrives in a busy but supportive environment
Ability to manage volume and maintain quality under pressure
Clean, organised, and committed to safe kitchen practices
No tolerance for substance abuse or disruptive behaviour
Immediate start preferred
