We currently have multiple fixed-term (12 month) opportunities commencing upon successful completion of your academic program, with the potential for extension or permanent placement.

About the Position

We are looking for enthusiastic Medical Imaging Technologists to join our team, offering varied training pathways to enhance your technical expertise.

Working with children is truly special! You will gain diverse experience working with patients ranging from newborns to adolescents.

Alongside technical skills, you will develop invaluable soft skills such as communication, empathy, and adaptability. You will learn to minimise anxiety and pain for our young patients, advocate for their needs, and foster understanding and confidence.

Applicants should be in the final year of a Tertiary Qualification in Medical Imaging, and be eligible for registration with the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia, and licensed with the Radiological Council of WA by the start of employment.

  Learn alongside our skilled team! As a graduate, you will start with general X-ray, including emergency services, and progress to mobile/portable X-ray, fluoroscopy, bone density, and dental X-ray.
  Our department conducts CT scans, angiography (including interventional and cardiac), MRI, ultrasound, nuclear medicine, and PACS/RIS.
  Our team also provides imaging services to women and newborns, including premature babies, at our satellite women’s and newborns campus at King Edward Memorial Hospital.
  Eligible for generous penalty rates from shift work and on call hours.

About the Medical Imaging Team

Based at Perth Children’s Hospital, Western Australia’s only acute tertiary paediatric centre, our dedicated Medical Imaging Team offer a comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging and interventional radiology services to children aged 0-16 years, including inpatients, outpatients, and the Emergency Department.

We focus on achieving the highest quality imaging studies with a compassionate, child-friendly approach. Our department is equipped with highly specialised facilities and equipment designed to create a safe and comfortable environment for infants, children, and their families.

As part of our dedication to excellence, we benchmark our services through collaboration with other children's hospitals and actively participate in research initiatives. We support research projects and contribute to the advancement of procedures through partnerships with universities and paediatric specialist foundations.
