Our growing team is seeking a skilled and motivated Retail Operations & Store Manager to lead our busy store and ensure smooth daily operations.
Position Overview
The Retail Operations & Store Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of shop operations — from customer service and staff management to inventory, logistics, and compliance. This is a hands-on leadership position ideal for someone who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and has strong people and organizational skills.
Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Sales Excellence
Deliver outstanding service to walk-in, phone, and online customers.
Advise clients on flower selection, event arrangements, and gift options.
Manage customer enquiries, quotes, and special orders with professionalism.
Resolve customer concerns promptly and effectively.
Drive sales growth through upselling and product knowledge.
Operational & Order Management
Coordinate all orders including retail, corporate, event, and council bookings.
Oversee pre-orders and ensure timely and accurate fulfillment.
Manage supplier relationships and monitor stock levels and flower freshness.
Oversee daily delivery scheduling and ensure timely dispatch.
Maintain accurate digital and physical order records.
Team Leadership & Roster Management
Supervise, train, and motivate florists, assistants, and delivery staff.
Prepare and manage weekly rosters according to workflow and business needs.
Foster a positive, professional, and collaborative workplace culture.
Administration, Compliance & Financial Oversight
Monitor daily sales, cash handling, and banking procedures.
Assist with inventory control, stock ordering, and supplier invoicing.
Ensure compliance with workplace health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Maintain accurate business records and operational documentation.
Store Presentation & Hygiene Standards
Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing store environment.
Oversee waste management, flower rotation, and care to minimize spoilage.
Ensure compliance with hygiene and safety standards across all areas.
Marketing & Community Engagement
Support social media updates, local promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
Represent Colours of Love professionally with clients, partners, and councils.
Build and sustain strong community and corporate relationships.
Skills & Experience
Minimum 2 years’ experience in retail, hospitality, or florist management.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven customer service excellence and problem-solving ability.
Knowledge of floral care, stock management, and merchandising (preferred).
Proficiency with POS systems and basic administrative tools.
Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and peak floral seasons.
