JOB DESCRIPTION
Brown Hill Estate requires a Cellar Hand and Assistant Winemaker for vintage 2026 to be based at our Margaret River Winery, Western Australia.
An exciting opportunity exists to join our small family vintage team, focusing on the production of premium wines from Margaret River.
We are seeking enthusiastic, dedicated and self motivated staff. You must have a "can do" attitude and be happy to engage in all areas of wine production/vineyard work and cellar door. Most of all you must want to have fun and enjoy wine.

Cellar Hand/Assistant Winemaker
- A strong work ethic and a level of fitness suited to the requirements of vintage
- Desire to work extended shifts and weekends during the vintage period
- The ability to multitask and prioritise whilst working in a safe manner
- Ability to work both individually and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, self-motivation and attention to detail
- A valid driving licence and current Australian forklift licence is ideal
The position requires a mixture of hands-on and supervisory skills, excellent communication skills, laboratory experience, attention to detail, cleanliness in a physically active role, with some vineyard and cellar door work.
Winery experience is essential and a tertiary degree in Oenology will be looked upon favourably.
Applicants must have Australian citizenship/residency or a valid Australian work permit
This position commences on 5th January 2026 for 6 months, with a possibility of extension for the right applicant. Visa holders with a valid Australian work permit are welcome to apply with a possibility of sponsorship after the contract ends.
