- Position: Chef de Cuisine
As a Chef de Cuisine, you will be at the helm of the kitchen, responsible for developing menus, leading a team of chefs, and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
Responsibilities:
- Design and create innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and align with the restaurant’s concept and guest preferences.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire the kitchen team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Oversee the preparation, cooking, and presentation of all dishes to ensure consistent quality and adherence to recipes and standards.
- Ensure all kitchen operations comply with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Provide ongoing training and development for kitchen staff, encouraging continuous improvement and growth.
Requirements:
- At least a Certificate IV in commercial cookery or above
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience as a Chef de Cuisine or similar role in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
- Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment.
- Creative and innovative approach to menu planning and presentation.
- Certifications in Food Safety and Hygiene are preferred.
Applicants who need sponsorship must meet the following criteria, in addition to the previously mentioned requirements:
- A valid English language certificate is needed, with an overall IELTS score of at least 5.5 and no individual section scoring less than 5.0.
- Depending on where you are placed or your nationality, you may need to complete a skill assessment from either TRA or VETASSESS, the relevant Australian skill assessing authorities.
