About the Role
The Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Pharmacy plays a pivotal role in supporting the ongoing growth and success of the pharmacy discipline, ensuring excellence in teaching, strong leadership, and the continued achievements of one of Australia’s leading regional pharmacy programs. You will deliver theoretical and clinical content across one or more subject areas, including the pharmaceutical sciences, pharmacy practice, and/or clinical pharmacy, with potential opportunities to contribute to related content in other health programs. The Senior Lecturer will have a research publication and supervision record. This role may also involve acting as a course or subject coordinator, conducting research, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging in collaborative consultation across the University and with health services in North Queensland.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
You will hold a degree and postgraduate qualifications in Pharmacy or other appropriate degree in a related area in the pharmaceutical sciences and demonstrate relevant teaching and research experience at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level. You will bring an understanding of the rural, remote, tropical and Indigenous contexts in relation to education and health service delivery. The ability to engage effectively with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, is essential.
About the Pharmacy
We offer one of Australia’s leading regional Pharmacy programs, ensuring our graduates are well-prepared with contemporary best practices and hands-on clinical experiences in both acute care settings and low-resource communities. Our graduates leave equipped with the skills, inspiration, and real-world experience to excel in any pharmacy setting, from rural outback towns to bustling city centres.
Over the past four years, our Pharmacy discipline has seen a 140% growth in undergraduate EFTSL and expanded our postgraduate program to over 500 enrolments. Additionally, we have introduced service teaching within the medical program, increasing revenue and enhancing our interdisciplinary impact. With the transition to multi-site delivery and trimesterisation, the need for additional academic staff is crucial to sustain our momentum and drive continued growth and innovation.
