Reporting to the Technical Product Specialist Supervisor, this Technical Product Specialist role will be the Subject Matter Expert in Caterpillar MineStar technology products specifically related to the underground mining sector with a focus on Caterpillar’s MineStar “Command for Underground” system and provide technical support and solutions to our stakeholders and customers.
This role supporting the MineStar for underground product range is expected to have extensive knowledge of both onboard and office aspects of the underground MineStar products. Potential candidates with the right skillset and experience in underground mining and technology platforms like Command are preferred, but training will be provided to the right candidate with similar or related experience. The successful individual will be flexible, highly professional, and focused on working in partnership with all teams in the technology division, as well as actively contributing to the development of technical documentation, product training, advanced analysis and resolution of technology related issues.
Location: Perth Precinct (Perth Airport, WA)
Roster: Monday – Friday, 8.5-hour days
Key focus areas where you will make a difference:
- Provide high level specialist support and services to customers on a specific or limited expertise range of Caterpillar technology products such as MineStar Command & Fleet
- Providing development and support to key stakeholders both internal and external
- Consult with all stakeholders through identification and scoping of technical compatibilities and requirements to deliver on required end solution
- Create documentation reflective of subject matter expert engagement, which includes comprehensive post installation documentation, solution and architecture design, and first in class product releases
To be successful the following is required:
- Demonstrated experience within a similar role and environment
- Experience with underground mining tele remote systems.
- Advanced knowledge of the MineStar office environment
- Experience with Microsoft Active directory
- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal) with the ability to cultivate relationships at all levels
- Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot, ideally in a support environment
- Highly developed negotiation, mentoring and influencing skills
- Knowledge and understanding of mining automation and control products and their application
