The Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a Staff Specialist - Intensivist who is able to care for both adults and children over 1 month of age. The role requires candidates to provide clinical services of the highest possible standard to infants, children, and adults, and flexibly work across two departments.
The role includes:
- Capacity to work as part of a collaborative team in a busy adult intensive care unit which is Tasmania’s tertiary adult ICU, with a broad case mix, excluding transplantation medicine. Rostering is for day periods with on-call and second on-call.
- Provide on-call services for Paediatric Intensive Care, including diagnosis, treatment, and care for paediatric patients in the Neonatal and Paediatric ICU.
- Pursuit of improved outcomes for critically-ill children and adults in Tasmania by participating in teaching, research and clinical practice improvement initiatives relevant to paediatric and adult intensive care across both departments.
- Provide supervision and advice in matters relating to paediatric intensive care throughout Tasmania.
- Commit to skills maintenance across Adult and Paediatric critical care disciplines.
- The two roles of adult and paediatric intensive care will be rostered separately and be consistent with the staff specialist work pattern in each area.
