Due to a pipeline of exciting upcoming projects, we are looking for an ambitious and motivated Project Engineer to join our Cairns team.
You will be responsible for providing engineering support and assisting the team in the day-to-day delivery of multiple Cairns projects.
Reporting to the Operations Manager your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate closely with the on-site project team to ensure timely project delivery within budget and schedule constraints.
- Manage construction planning and scheduling.
- Lead the implementation and management of project Quality Systems and ITPs.
- Oversee major procurement activities, including quote requests and supplier management.
- Effectively manage subcontractors.
- Monitor costs, prepare monthly progress claims, and generate reports.
- Monitor and review the performance of direct reports and provide leadership, mentoring and coaching
- Uphold and apply all relevant standards and policies.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Essential Skills and Attributes
- Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Engineering and at least 4 years of relevant experience
- Highly regarded: Experience with TMR specifications
- Competent in understanding and promoting HSEQ imperatives and procedures
- Excellent planning, organising and problem-solving skills together with the ability to lead, motivate and influence others.
- Hold proven verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholders
- Computer literacy, particularly experience working with MS Excel and MS Project applications.
- Positive attitude and self-motivated
- Ability to pass a project specific pre-employment medical, including a drug and alcohol screen.
