As a Chef, you will be tasked within our high-octane kitchen. Reporting to the Head Chef, you will be responsible for planning our menu, ensuring that each dish is nutritious and cost-effective, and collaborating with a team of kitchen staff to deliver food that meets the highest quality standards. It goes without saying that our food along with beverage and FR experience will be paramount for success.
The full-time role based in Sydney and is open to Australian citizens and permanent residents. We can consider visa sponsorship for suitable foreign professions. Renumeration will be $70,000 to $75,000 plus superannuation depending on the level of skills and creativity you have to offer.
· Ensuring that all food is of excellent quality and served in a timely manner.
· Planning the menu, keeping in mind budget, and availability of seasonal ingredients.
· Lead, mentor, and manage culinary team on all the menu items and their presentation.
· Develop and plan menus and daily specials.
· Create prep lists for kitchen crew for group bookings, functions, and events.
· Estimate and manage food costing and overall kitchen inventory.
· Maintain standards for food storage, rotation, quality, and appearance.
· Participate in interview process and selection of kitchen staff with the management.
· Ensure compliance with applicable health codes and regulations.
· Establish maintenance and cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas.
· Schedule staff and assist in human resources processes as needed.
· Receiving feedback and making improvements where necessary.
· Keeping up to date with industry trends.
About you...
· You hold a diploma or higher qualification in culinary arts or hospitality field
· You are a hands-on Chef or an emerging Chef with minimum 1 - 2 years’ experience in a similar environment and cuisine
· You will enjoy being on tools and bringing your creations to life
· Bring your on-trend ideas, new dishes, new concepts, and new menus to make our food offering the best in the area
· Good knowledge of WHS, food hygiene and efficient kitchen processes
