About the opportunity
The total remuneration package (which includes salary, superannuation, TESL and other allowances) is $365,000 to $400,000.
This position qualifies for a Recruitment Incentive Package up to the value of $5,000 under the provided you are appointed as a Staff Specialist.
This scheme recognises the role key health workers play in enabling the delivery of rural and remote health services and aims to provide incentives over and above award entitlements, to attract and retain staff in these areas.
Packages may consist of relocation benefits, a fortnightly Rural Retention Allowance, contributions to professional development and utility reimbursements, in addition to accommodation assistance.
To recognise ongoing service in this role, once the successful candidate has served a qualifying period, they will become entitled to a reoccurring Annual Retention Bonus valued at $5,000 (as taxable income).

With over 500 births a year the maternity service is a dynamic and important part of our local health service. Maternity services are provided to our community through the collaboration of Specialist Obstetricians, Midwives, GP Obstetricians, Child and Family Health, Aboriginal Maternal & Infant Health Service, Perinatal Mental Health and Specialist Paediatric services.
Our health service is a level 4 role delineated regional maternity service with a level 3 special care nursery.

This role is based at , a part of the . The facility is a Level 4, 120 bed acute hospital that services a rapidly growing catchment population and is about to undergo a to bring new and expanded services into the region.
Our staff, clinicians and our health company have provided valuable input to the project team which has helped inform the planning and design and will continue to provide input as the facility is built and refurbished. This is a great opportunity to be involved at the ground level in the redevelopment and service design of this project.
Bathurst provides allied health, ambulatory care, coronary care, emergency medicine (26,000 presentations a year), intensive care, general medicine, mental health drug & alcohol, obstetrics & gynaecology, oncology, paediatrics, pathology, radiology, rehabilitation and surgery services. The service also has active hospital in the home and primary community health services to the surrounding townships.

1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, and/or overseas trained specialist via the appropriate International Medical Graduate pathway.
2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team.
3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
4. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement.
5. Be available to participate in an on-call roster as required and to respond on-site within a reasonable time.
6. Fellowship of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists.
