Melbourne's newest All You Can Eat Japanese Restaurant. We are seeking a sushi chef with an appetite for growth. Experienced and inexperienced applicants are both welcome as long as the applicant has a background in cooking. Pay will vary depending on the level of qualification. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic, be an effective team member and be able to work in a fast paced environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of sushi rice, sushi rolls and nigiri sushi.
- Assisting the head chef and assistant chefs with cooking and plating, ensuring a high level of consistency and appeal with each plate.
- Demonstrating a deep understanding of various ingredients, their unique flavours, and optimal uses.
- Adhering to food safety and sanitation regulations.
- Learning from chefs to develop skills and gain responsibility, with a view to progress as a professional in the future.
- Help manage inventory and work with suppliers to ensure the kitchen is well-stocked with fresh ingredients.
- Conduct regular equipment inspections to ensure kitchen safety and efficiency.
- Ensure sanitisation of equipment and utensils by upholding sanitation standards in the cleaning process.
