About our Vet Center.
Our Vet Center is a multi-disciplinary specialist hospital and we are part of the country’s largest contingent of Veterinary clinicians and specialists, providing unparalleled opportunities for collaboration and professional development.
Located in the heart of Melbourne’s north west we will be undergoing a major expansion into a new purpose built facility, providing the exciting chance to contribute your expertise and help shape the future of the custom designed site.
The new site will more than double in size, featuring 1,250 sqm of advanced veterinary facilities, including a dedicated Critical Care Unit, 9 consultation rooms, 4 surgeries (including an ECC surgery), and cutting-edge imaging technology with MRI, CT, X-ray, and ultrasound.
Our team consists of a surgery department which include three specialists, one resident, two interns, and dedicated support nurses. Our Emergency and Critical Care department operates as a standalone unit, supported by approximately 20 veterinarians working shifts to provide 24/7 care to our patients. Our Medicine team comprises of three experienced Internal Medicine Specialists and highly skilled nursing staff. Additionally, we benefit from the expertise of a visiting specialist ophthalmologist and a visiting specialist anaesthetist, ensuring comprehensive support across disciplines.
Job Description
About the Role
The role will be clinical based with the focus being on improving the skills and knowledge of the current team and also include management of interns. You will be working alongside an established and experienced emergency Vet team that is managed by the ECC Vet Manager.
Our team consists of approximately 20 full-time and part-time ECC vets and nurses, supported by a consistent casual team. We maintain an excellent 1 vet to 2 nurse ratio, ensuring strong support and collaboration during every shift.
You will have access to all the items required to practice emergency and critical care at the highest level, including intensive care ventilators, blood gas analysis, dedicated ECC theatre, cage-side ultrasound and on-site CT and MRI. We encourage case collaboration, and you will have the advantage of working closely with the Surgery and Medicine Specialists to deliver the best standard of care to your patients.

Qualifications
About You
A registered specialist in Emergency and Critical Care, Fellow (ANZCVS) or Diplomate (ACVIM, ECVIM). If you have completed your residency training and preparing for board exams we would love to hear from you too.
