Indian Cooks; 2 positions available. These full time permanent positions are available at a busy Indian restaurant. Must have experience in Indian cuisine. Visa sponsorship available for candidates with the right qualifications along with a generous salary package $70,000-$75,000 depending on experience.

Cook - KEY TASKS
- Have a full operational knowledge of Indian recipes and cooking styles.
- Working knowledge of - standards, portion sizes and presentation style of dishes produced within the kitchen
- Discuss any food preparation issues with the manager and other staff.
- Ensure the preparation and presentation of the dishes are to the highest quality and standards.
- Ability to examine the food to be prepared and ensure it is of the highest quality.
- Ensure food is stored safely and maintained at the right temperature in controlled facilities.
- Ability to operate ovens, grills and kitchen equipment and knowledge of the correct temperatures in relation to the food to be cooked.
- Preparation of the food to be cooked which includes cutting and chopping the relevant ingredients prior to cooking
- Knowledge of Indian seasonings which will be applied during cooking.
- Knowledge and preparation of Indian sauces and garnishes that will be added after cooking.
- Understanding and knowledge of special dietary needs and the ability to prepare foods to comply with the special needs.
- You will need to possess the skills and verbal proficiency to deal with food complaints efficiently.
- Demonstrate strong organisational skills and be able to prepare curries, sauces, entrees, naans and desserts as and when required.
- Implement and ensure compliance with food hygiene standards and health and safety requirements,
- Ensure food prepared in the kitchen is of highest possible standards,
- Be responsible for the supervision and training of any junior kitchen staff,
- Regulating temperatures of tandoor, ovens, grills, burners/pans and other cooking equipment
- Able to demonstrate a thorough understanding of traditional Northern Indian cuisine including desserts
- Ensure the correct preparation and presentation standard of the dishes is maintained at all times
- Checking on food supplies and advising the supervisor of any requirements to purchase stock.
- Ensure all the equipment used in section is in good condition and hygienically cleaned before and after use
- Assist chefs in creation and planning of menus
Qualifications require: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery plus 1 year experience
All positions must complete the Tourism COVID 19 Hygiene Course
