About Our Team:
Our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Western Australia provides comprehensive mental health services to children and adolescents from birth to 18 years following a holistic and patient-centred approach.
We are a state-wide, specialised program that works with children aged 12 and under with complex and long-term mental health difficulties.
We are a family focused program that aims to offer a flexible and adaptable service to best suit the needs of the child. This can include education, social, behavioural, emotional, and mental health difficulties. As each child and family is different, each admission is also different and may include assessment, the recovery day program and or outreach-based treatment approach.
About the Role:
As a Senior Speech Pathologist at Pathways, you will apply advanced skills in Speech Pathology practice to plan and implement assessments and interventions in an intensive treatment program for young people with complex emotional, behavioural and developmental needs.
Pathways provides significant supervision and support for team members including reflective supervision and peer supervision groups. You will also have access to individual profession-specific clinical supervision, and termly opportunities for education and networking with the Speech Pathologists in other services.
You will work closely with a supportive, experienced, and welcoming multi-disciplinary team of mental health and allied health professionals. You will have a diverse role that includes:
- Individual assessment
- Implementing individual and group interventions
- Collaborating with and educating caregivers
- Consulting with schools and other community stakeholders
- Providing professional development and clinical guidance to other team members
- Working alongside teachers in the day program classroom
Eligibility to Apply: To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a valid working visa (for fixed term appointments) or be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have a visa to live and work indefinitely in Australia (for permanent appointments).
