MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Implementation of quality control documentation and management of registers to ensure compliance with project specifications
- Development of initial and ongoing construction programs alongside project teams, accurately reflecting the status of the project
- Quantify and procurement of materials throughout project duration
- Generation and submission of unforeseen variations to the contract if required
- Assisting project team to ensure sufficient resources available as per site production requirements
- Ensure correct interpretation of project design drawings/specification with management team across project/s
- Management and Verification of all subcontractors' scope of works.
- Maintain consistent, proactive and positive communication with project supervision and the client’s representee/s
- Attend project meetings with the client when required
- Quantity/volume analysis and assistance with tender submissions.
- Assisting in driving business development through supporting bids, identifying opportunities and supporting the wider team for successful delivery
- Lead and manage road and highway design projects from conception to completion
- Liaise with clients, local and state governments agencies to ensure project approvals and compliance
- Provide leadership to the civil engineering team members
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Must Hold a recognised degree in Civil Engineering and have a minimum 5 years' experience in the civil construction industry. Adept management of engineering and quality related aspects of construction projects ranging in size and complexity.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction projects – roads and highway experience are highly advantageous
- Experience working on Government contracts is very favourable
- Strong background in either Road, Earthworks, Utilities and FRP
- Strong focus on planning, process efficiency and continuous improvement
- Demonstrate experience in technical quality assurance and high-quality deliverables
- Experience with survey equipment and heavy machinery
- Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite or similar
- Experience with survey software; AutoCAD and/or various 3D software
- Knowledge of applicable Australian standards, codes and State requirements
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and provide innovative solutions
