We are looking for a skilled Occupational Therapist to join the team. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality care to residents while supporting primary care services across multiple nursing homes and medical centres in Melbourne and Geelong.
Core Requirements:
- Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with AHPRA
- Have a minimum of one year of experience as a Occupational Therapist.
- Satisfactory Police Record Check
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills
- Contemporary knowledge of best practice in occupational therapy care
- Passionate about patient care and achieving quality clinical outcomes
- Committed to professional and team development, ability to engage all members of the multidisciplinary team
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical assessments using observations and standardised tests to evaluate residents' emotional, psychological, developmental, and physical capabilities.
- Plan and lead engaging vocational, recreational, social, and educational programs for individuals and groups, enhancing residents’ quality of life.
- Provide valuable advice to family members and carers on how to modify environments to support residents’ independence and well-being.
- Recommend and provide adaptive equipment, including wheelchairs and splints, to help residents overcome functional limitations.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to manage client cases and ensure holistic, comprehensive care.
- Offer expert advice on specialised needs, including driver rehabilitation, third-party compensation, and medico-legal matters.
- Maintain accurate documentation of residents' progress while adhering to legislative requirements and ethical guidelines.
