- Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material
- Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts
- Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy
- Setting guides and stops on machining tools and setting up as required
- Forming metal stock and castings to fit tolerances using machine tools to press
- Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines
- May erect machines and equipment onsite
Requirements
Completed a qualification in engineering
At least two years experience as a CNC Turner Machinist
At least two years experience as a CNC Setter
At least two years experience a CNC Programmer
Able to operate CNC lathes and CNC milling machines
Proficient in manual machines is a plus
Experience in producing "one off" type items
Experience with Fanuc, Heidenhein, Mazak CNC controllers
Proficient in Solidcam, and Solidworks
