Reporting to the Area Manager - Rebuilds Execution, the Build Release Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all inspections of incoming and outgoing assets meet agreed expectations. This includes conducting thorough inspections to guarantee that machines are delivered as promised by both us and our customers. Inspections will be performed in the field, with automated feedback loops to enhance our processes.
This role serves as an independent set of eyes outside of the team involved in building the machine to act as an impartial body to ensure consistent and high-quality results and assessments that can be fed back to the Operational Support Team to further refine and develop the scope of works. You will need to have a high drive for quality and safety, with strong attention to detail and compliance with quality control.

Roster: 5 Days 2 Off 10.5hrs
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct incoming inspections to ensure safety and compliance, including a quality checklist that covers overall condition and any accompanying components.
- Perform outgoing inspections to verify that all scopes meet quality standards for immediate and safe operation.
- Act as an impartial reviewer to ensure consistent, high-quality assessments that inform the Operational Support Team for continuous improvement.
- Serve as the point of contact for customers regarding machine inspections, ensuring timely communication, addressing inquiries to enhance customer satisfaction and experience.
To be successful the following is required:
- Mechanical Trade Certificate OR a strong knowledge of Caterpillar equipment with Heavy Diesel experience.
- Minimum of 2 years post-trade experience with a Mechanical Trade Certificate
- ‘C’ class drivers’ licence (essential)
- Working at heights accreditation (preferred)
- Highly motivated with the ability to work independently.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with stakeholders.
Previous Experience We Find Successful in This Role
- Previous supervisor experience but wanting to step away from people management
- Previous customer facing experience and ability to navigate difficult conversations
