Our health service is offering an exciting opportunity to join our Registrar training program operating in 2025. Participating in this rural placement will enable you to gain significant skills and experience and rapidly progress your capabilities and career.
Our hospital's Medical Department provides services across a broad spectrum of care, including the Medical/Surgical ward containing 34 beds, 2 bariatric beds and a 4 bed High Dependency Unit. The unit provides care for a large spectrum of medical conditions and post-operative care for gynaecology, urology, ophthalmology, orthopaedics, ENT and general surgery patients. The ward has facilities for cardiac monitoring via both mobile telemetry units and fixed monitors.
This role offers a great opportunity to complete your training amongst a small team of dedicated professionals enabling you to receive dedicated support and develop strong professional relationships. You will benefit from exposure to a very broad scope of practice and regular access to a range of education and training opportunities. In this role you will provide high quality assessment and care to inpatients of a broad range of low and high acuity medical patients in conjunction with the multidisciplinary health team with the direction and support of the staff Physicians. All applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (or equivalent)
- Eligibility for General Registration with minimum level 3 supervision and if requested a PESCI pass rate
- If international candidate, Registration with the Medical Board of Australia is required prior commencement
- Minimum 3 years of postgraduate experience in clinical medicine, including extensive experience in General and/or Internal Medicine setting.
- AMC parts 1 and 2 passed
- Competence in advanced life support techniques
