Position Overview:
As a Civil Engineering Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting engineering projects, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, and contributing to the successful execution of our diverse portfolio of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Support and Documentation:
- Assist in developing and interpreting civil engineering plans, designs, and specifications.
- Prepare detailed drawings and documentation for construction projects.
- Conduct technical assessments, feasibility studies, and cost estimations.
- Maintain records of project details, progress, and compliance.
- Fieldwork and Inspection:
- Conduct on-site inspections to monitor project progress and adherence to specifications.
- Collect and analyse data on-site for use in design and project planning.
- Identify potential issues during construction and report to the engineering team.
- Perform material testing and quality assurance checks.
- Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure construction activities comply with relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining quality control procedures.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure project alignment.
- Respond to technical inquiries and provide support to stakeholders as required.
- Assist in preparing reports and presentations for clients and project teams.
- Technical Support:
- Operate and maintain technical equipment, such as surveying tools and testing devices.
- Provide input on design modifications and improvements based on practical field insights.
- Support the planning and execution of site operations, including resource allocation.
Skills and Competencies:
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
- Strong technical aptitude with knowledge of construction materials and methods.
- Effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work.
- Competency with computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently as required.
Essential Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a similar role.
- Qualifications: Relevant certifications or diploma in Civil Engineering or related field.
- Skills: Strong technical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Willingness to Relocate: Open to relocating to Western Australia.
