Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Filipino dishes, with a strong emphasis on wok-based techniques.
- Maintain consistency and authenticity in flavor, presentation, and quality.
- Develop new menu items inspired by Asian cuisine.
- Oversee kitchen operations for the wok station, ensuring smooth workflow during service hours.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on Asian culinary techniques.
- Uphold food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a wok chef or in Asian cuisine, with a minimum of 3 years in a professional kitchen.
- Expertise in handling a wok and achieving the desired "wok hei" in dishes.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Creativity and a passion for culinary innovation.
- Directing the food preparation process and delegating tasks
- Cooking and preparing high quality dishes
- Assisting the Head Chef to create menu items, recipes and develop dishes
- Supervising all kitchen stations
- Supervising, motivating and working closely with other Chefs of all levels
- Being responsible for health and safety
- Being responsible for food hygiene practices
- Ensuring food quality and excellent standards are maintained for all dishes created
- Assisting with determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
- Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines
