We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Indian Entrée Cook to join our kitchen team. Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian entrees and appetizers (such as pakoras, samosas, and other traditional starters) to the highest standards.
- Work alongside the Head Chef and kitchen team to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery of meals.
- Follow authentic Indian recipes, ensuring proper techniques and seasoning to create flavourful dishes.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Ensure portion control and proper food handling practices to minimize waste and optimize cost efficiency.
- Assist in managing kitchen inventory, and monitor stock levels of key ingredients for Indian cuisine.
- Help train and mentor junior kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to cooking methods and safety standards.
- Collaborate effectively with front-of-house staff to ensure smooth and efficient service during busy hours.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a cook, with a focus on preparing Indian entrees and appetizers.
- Strong knowledge and experience with authentic Indian cooking methods and ingredients.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet service deadlines.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
