Position Overview
As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in supporting our Head & Executive Chef's to manage and lead the kitchen team. You will help deliver high-quality, innovative dishes that exceed our guests' expectations while maintaining consistency, excellence, and creativity. Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Kitchen Management: Work alongside the Head & Executive Chefs to manage kitchen operations, including menu development, food prep, cooking, and presentation.
Menu Innovation: Contribute to the creation of seasonal menus that reflect the diversity of tastes and preferences of our clientele.
Quality & Consistency: Ensure all dishes meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
Stock & Inventory Control: Oversee inventory management, ordering, and stock control to ensure minimal waste and maximum cost efficiency.
Team Leadership: Mentor and guide kitchen staff, fostering a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, growth, and excellence.
Collaborative Approach: Work closely with the management team to help drive improvements to the dining experience, service quality, and business growth.
Kitchen Organisation: Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen while ensuring strict adherence to sanitation and safety standards.
High-Volume Service: Manage multiple dining settings, including our 120-seat restaurant and front bar, ensuring smooth operations during busy periods.
Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience in a high-volume, hospitality environment, preferably within a restaurant setting.
Role-Specific: Minimum of three years as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie, looking to step up to a leadership role.
Culinary Education: Culinary degree or equivalent certification from a recognized institution.
Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management abilities with a passion for mentoring and inspiring your team.
Creativity & Passion: A genuine passion for food, creativity in the kitchen, and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Communication: Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to perform under pressure.
Knowledge: Deep understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Multitasking Ability: Experience managing multiple menus, including the restaurant, front bar, and snacks.
Benefits
Competitive Salary: $77,000 - $85,000, based on experience.
