Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Manager to lead and manage civil engineering and building projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling, and coordinating all aspects of construction, including physical and human resources, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret architectural drawings and specifications to guide construction activities.
- Coordinate labor resources, and oversee the procurement and delivery of materials, equipment, and plant.
- Collaborate with Architects, Engineering Professionals, Technical and Trades Workers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
- Negotiate with building owners, property developers, and subcontractors to achieve project objectives within budget and timeline constraints.
- Prepare and submit tenders and contract bids for new projects.
- Develop and implement coordinated work programs to ensure efficient site operations.
- Monitor compliance with building legislation, performance standards, quality benchmarks, cost control, and safety protocols.
- Arrange the submission of construction plans and approvals from local authorities.
- Manage construction under contract or subcontract specialized building services as required.
- Oversee and assess the quality and progress of subcontractors' work.
- Organize and facilitate building inspections by local authorities to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree or higher qualification in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications.
- In-depth knowledge of construction processes, building legislation, and safety standards.
