About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to provide specialized services to individuals with vision impairment. This role offers the opportunity to work in a rewarding environment, helping clients enhance their independence and quality of life through evidence-based intervention programs.
As part of the Independent Living Skills (ILS) service team, you will collaborate with clients, families, and professionals to deliver person-centered care, and contribute to the growth of ILS services in the Wollongong region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to identify client needs and create tailored intervention plans.
- Deliver a variety of therapy programs, including support with personal care, technology use, leisure activities, and daily living skills.
- Collaborate with clients and their support networks to achieve meaningful goals.
- Maintain professional documentation and respond to service inquiries.
- Deliver workshops and information sessions for community groups, professionals, and families.
- Build and maintain referral networks to expand the reach of services.
Your Skills and Experience:
Essential:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy.
- Current AHPRA registration.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in occupational therapy programs.
- Client-centered approach with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with technology, including Microsoft Office and mobile applications.
- Current Class C driver’s license.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the role.
Desirable:
- Experience working in community or home settings.
- Knowledge of local community support services in Wollongong.
- Understanding of NDIS or My Aged Care frameworks.
- Eligibility for a DVA provider number.
Salary and Benefits:

- The salary range is from A$80,000 to A$90,000 (negotiable commensurate with the candidate's experience).
