We are seeking qualified Mechanical Engineering Technicians to become integral parts to diverse maintenance teams. These roles are critical in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of operations across various businesses, encompassing responsibilities in preventative maintenance, equipment repair, and continuous improvement.
As a Mechanical Engineering Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring machinery and mechanical systems operate efficiently and reliably. You will apply your technical knowledge to perform maintenance, repair, and installation tasks in line with engineering standards and operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design, assembly, installation, and testing of mechanical systems.
- Conduct inspections to identify mechanical issues and implement solutions.
- Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical manuals.
- Support the fabrication, modification, and optimization of mechanical components and systems.

About you
- Certification and Experience: You hold a relevant certification in Mechanical Engineering (Diploma) and bring substantial hands-on experience in maintenance fitting, electrical systems, or engineering support, ideally within manufacturing, agrifood, timber, agricultural, steel fabrication, energy, or food processing environments.
- Technical Skills: You possess solid technical skills in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing mechanical and electrical systems. You have experience with preventive maintenance, and you’re skilled in reading and interpreting technical blueprints and schematics.
- Soft Skills: With excellent communication, time management, and multitasking abilities, you work well both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Adaptability and Learning: You’re a proactive learner who embraces new technologies and is always looking for ways to enhance efficiency and reliability in your work.
- Licenses and Certifications: You hold a valid driver's license, and additional certifications such as a forklift license, elevated work platform certification, or confined space certification are a plus.
The Role
As an Electronic Instrument Trades Worker (Special Class), you will play a critical role in installing, maintaining, and repairing complex electronic instruments and control systems in industrial environments. Using your expertise in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems, you will ensure seamless operations and contribute to the efficiency and reliability of our processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and commission electronic instruments and control systems.
- Conduct inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on complex control systems and components.
- Modify and upgrade existing electronic and control systems to meet operational requirements.
- Perform preventative maintenance to optimize system performance and reduce downtime.
- Interpret and analyse technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
About You
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Electronic Instrument Trades Worker (Special Class) with:
- Qualifications: Certificate III or IV in Instrumentation, Electrical/Electronic Trade, or a related field.
- Licensing: Registration or licensing as required under state or territory regulations.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within [relevant industries].
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in working with complex electronic instruments and control systems.
- Hands-on experience with systems incorporating electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles.

- Roles involve standard Monday to Friday schedules or shift work for 24 hour plants, with optional weekend and on-call duties
