About the Opportunity:
We are a growing civil contracting company servicing the mining & resources sector with various ongoing projects running nationwide. The HD Fitter/Maintenance Lead will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of diesel and petrol heavy equipment and mobile plant including excavators, trucks, earthmoving equipment and LVs.
We are looking for an experienced HD Fitter / Maintenance Lead who will live and work in Kalgoorlie. The HD Fitter will take the lead on all maintenance, repairs and schedules of machinery, and will be required to travel to various mine sites.
This is an autonomous position offering flexibility, you will be responsible for organising your schedule between both branches in Perth and Kalgoorlie in conjunction with maintenance and repair needs across various mine sites.
The successful candidate will be provided with a vehicle, and this position will report to the Directors.
Responsibilities:
• Carry out repairs as required and conduct routine maintenance on all machinery including light vehicles, loaders, skid steers, excavators, trucks, compactors and small engines.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose faults, schedule inspections, servicing, adjustments and repairs in a timely manner.
• Travel between Kalgoorlie and mine sites to conduct mobile/field maintenance and repairs.
• Organise your own schedule according to repair and maintenance requirements.
• Liaise with project managers, site supervisors and other stakeholders for machinery downtime to coincide with maintenance/repairs.
• Liaise with relevant site administrator and supervisor for site access, completing inductions and paperwork as required.
• For larger works, liaise with suppliers for quotes providing your experience and knowledge in diagnosis from third parties.
• Ensure the safe execution of all planned and unplanned maintenance activities within quality, time and budget requirements.
• Experience with air conditioning highly advantageous
• Proficient with computers/Microsoft – outlook, word, excel
• Communicate and provide regular updates to Directors
About you:
• Demonstrated experience in a similar position.
• Experience organising and conducting routine maintenance on similar machinery and vehicles.
• Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, managing own schedule and workload.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to provide mobile/field repairs.
• Proactive in planning with excellent organisation and communication skills
• Minimum Manual C Class Driver’s License, HR license is advantageous.
