- Main duties and responsibilities are:· Conducting thorough inspections to identify mechanical issues using computers, diagnostic tools and test-drives.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks, such as engine tune up, oil changes, brake repairs, and fluid checks, as well as fixing more complex mechanical problems.
- Repairing, replacing or reassemble engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering and other key vehicle components.
- · Replacing damaged or worn-out parts, such as tyres, batteries, and belts.
- · Testing repaired vehicles to ensure they function properly, including checking for proper alignment, brakes, and fluid levels.
- · Ensuring vehicles meet safety standards, pollution standards and regulations through proper maintenance and repairs.
- · Perform logbook services, issue road worthy slips and explain vehicle issues, repairs, and maintenance needs to customers in a clear and professional manner.
- · Maintaining detailed records of services performed, parts used, and vehicle history for future reference.
- · Regularly maintaining and calibrating tools and diagnostic equipment to ensure accuracy and effectiveness.
- · Staying current with new automotive technologies, repair techniques, and safety protocols.
- The successful applicant must demonstrate the following:
*A current Motor Mechanic Trade Certificate or equivalent?*A current Drivers License?*Knowledge and experience in service and maintenance with cars?*Great diagnostic skills?*Proven ability to work in a fast paced environment?*Great organisation abilities?*Ability to work in a team environment
