About the Role
Be a part of our dedicated Multidisciplinary Allied Health team
Our Podiatrist role is structured to offer exposure to a wide range of clinical settings, professional development support, and training through a supported induction process. We will provide you with a onsite supervisor to support your journey and a genuine caring management team.
You will gain experience in various adult cohorts including aged care and disability services. The role is based in our modern well equipped therapy centres with access to a support staff, a multidisciplinary team and senior staff. We provide our therapy in a range of settings, in our centres, in our care facilities and in the community.
Key Role Accountabilities:
- Assessment of customer foot care needs and development of individual treatment plans and goals;
- Delivery of high-quality intervention and advice;
- Regular review of customer treatment plans and goals.
- Assisting customers to achieve optimum level of foot health and hygiene. To assess the foot care needs and provide podiatry services to customers presenting with a wide range of needs, including aged care, disability, and health and wellbeing.
- To provide information and education to customers and carers on management/relief of pain, wound management, prophylactic measures, general foot care and footwear as required.
- To be responsible for the development and ongoing review of individual care plans for customers assessed as needing podiatry care. Provide instruction, supervision and education to Allied Health Assistant staff and/or support staff in the provision of instrument sterilisation processes.
- Provide instruction, supervision and education to customers, support workers and other carers as required.
- Identify opportunities to provide other cross disciplinary services which may be of benefit to the customer.
- Ensure that the customer is an active participant in the development and review of treatment goals and planning.
- Ensure that positive and professional relationships and rapport are developed and maintained with customers.
About You
- Ability and proficiency in Podiatry assessment and treatment of community dwelling customers presenting with a wide range of needs, including aged care, disability and health and wellbeing.
- Demonstrated ability and proficiency in the timely receipting, appropriate documenting and accurate record keeping into computerised programs.
- High level of verbal and written communication skills particularly in establishing and maintaining rapport with staff, customers and their carers.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a multi-disciplinary team member.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage individual caseload whilst meeting service and customer needs.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualification in Podiatry and current registration with AHPRA.
- Proof of Vaccination Status as required by Legislation and Health Directives
- Relevant probity checks required by legislation.
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to drive in the course of work.
