About the Role
Join the dynamic research community as a Researcher focused on advanced combustion simulations for gas turbines and reciprocating engines. This position offers the opportunity to lead independent research using cutting-edge High-Performance Computing (HPC), Direct Numerical Simulations (DNS), Large Eddy Simulations (LES), and a novel experimental setup developed at the University. As part of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, you will contribute to both research and teaching, enhancing the department's renowned expertise in energy technologies.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Contributing to teaching, training, scientific mentoring and supervision of students
- Supervising junior research staff in the appointee's area of expertise
- Conducting lectures, tutorials, mark and undertake laboratory duties as required by the Department.
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a motivated individual with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to driving innovation in energy technologies. The ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment is essential.
You will also have:
A PhD in Mechanical, Chemical or Aerospace Engineering, or closely related discipline; with no more than 5 years of experience post-PhD
- A record of quality research as evidenced by publications in leading journals and at conferences commensurate with opportunity
- Ability to perform independent research and a commitment to interdisciplinary research
