The Opportunity
Our company is looking for two full-time Assistant Farm Managers.
Each Assistant Farm Manager will be based on one farm within the Complex, reporting directly to the Farm Manager, and will assist with day-to-day operations, supporting production objectives, and stepping up in the Manager's absence.
More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing stock to achieve production standards, including feed ordering and vaccination programs
- Leading and developing farm staff, including recruitment, training, and performance management
- Conducting audits with a focus on biosecurity, health, and safety
- Coordinating maintenance schedules and ensuring facilities are clean and operational
- Controlling costs and participating in budget planning processes
- Promoting and maintaining health and safety compliance
- Preparing and submitting timely and accurate farm reports
What We Need From You
To qualify, you will need a high level of poultry knowledge and a proven record of leadership and management. A minimum of 2 years experience in poultry production operations will also be essential. Additionally, experience in rearing and production operations and the ability to step into a second-in-command (2IC) role are critical for this position.
Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:
- Knowledge and understanding of the Animal Welfare codes
- Expertise in animal husbandry practices and animal health issues
- Planning, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Effective communication and reporting abilities
- Staff leadership, development, and management
