The Role
- Participate in the Anatomical Pathology services provided by the department of Anatomical Pathology
- Conduct tissue review meetings.
- Undertake undergraduate teaching of medical students
- Provide supervision and training of postgraduate specialist trainees.
- Maintain involvement in research activities including supervision of research students.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the services provided to patients.
- Provide administrative functions to the unit as required.
- Work collaboratively with scientific staff and other health professionals.
- Actively participate in and contribute to the organisation’s Quality & Safety and Work Health
- & Safety processes, including in the development and implementation of safety systems, improvement initiatives, safeguarding practices for vulnerable people, and related training.

Salary
Medical Practitioners (Public Sector) Award
A remuneration package comprising the Agreement base salary, relevant allowances and other entitlements will be negotiated with the successful applicant dependent on clinical experience and seniority.
Base salary points range for Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1 at $216,300 through to Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 11 at $296,640 with further salary increments available.
- Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $300,216 - $310,389 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners (Tasmanian State Service) Award
