Our company is seeking a Commissioning IBA Engineer to join our team.
This role is essential for overseeing the commissioning of the Incinerated Bottom Ash (IBA) handling system, ensuring efficient material separation and metal recovery while meeting operational and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules for the IBA handling system, ensuring alignment with project milestones.
- Conduct and supervise functional tests, cold and hot commissioning, and performance tuning to optimize bottom ash handling and material separation.
- Participate in mechanical completion inspections and system walkdowns, verifying equipment installations and system integrity before commissioning.
- Lead the commissioning of IBA-related equipment, including conveyors, ash extractors, metal recovery systems, screening units, and storage systems, with a focus on Loibl technologies.
- Manage coordination with OEM vendors, subcontractors, and engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of commissioning activities.
- Diagnose and resolve technical and operational issues to enhance system performance and reliability.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations, risk assessments, and industry standards.
- Track system performance, analyze data, and generate detailed commissioning reports.
- Provide technical guidance and training to plant operators and maintenance teams for a seamless transition to full-scale operations.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in commissioning, operation, or maintenance of Incinerated Bottom Ash (IBA) handling systems in Resource Recovery Facilities (RRF).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience, specifically with Loibl bottom ash handling and material separation technologies.
- Proven experience leading IBA system commissioning and optimization.
- Strong understanding of mechanical completion walkdowns, material separation processes, and plant handover procedures.
- Experience coordinating with OEM vendors, EPC contractors, and multidisciplinary teams in large-scale energy projects.
- In-depth knowledge of IBA system components, including conveyors, screening units, metal recovery, and ash conditioning technologies.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues.
- Comprehensive understanding of HSE standards, risk assessments, and industry regulations related to ash handling and material separation.
- Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and adapt to evolving project conditions.
- Proficiency in preparing commissioning procedures, test plans, reports, and plant documentation.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills to work effectively with engineers, technicians, and plant operators.
- Open to international candidates with extensive experience in commissioning Loibl IBA systems.
