Our company is seeking a highly skilled Boiler Commissioning Lead to join our team.
This is a key role in overseeing the commissioning of the HZI grate moving boiler system, ensuring optimal performance, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules for the WtE boiler system, ensuring alignment with project timelines.
- Supervise and conduct functional tests, cold and hot commissioning, steam blows, and performance tuning for optimal combustion stability and emission compliance.
- Oversee and coordinate chemical cleaning of the boiler to ensure system reliability before startup.
- Participate in mechanical completion inspections and system walkdowns, verifying equipment integrity.
- Lead the commissioning of auxiliary systems, including waste crane, combustion air blowers, burners, enhanced combustion control systems, feedwater systems, and flue gas treatment systems.
- Manage coordination with OEM vendors, subcontractors, and engineering teams to ensure smooth execution of commissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical and operational issues related to combustion, steam generation, and auxiliary systems.
- Ensure all commissioning activities comply with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and industry standards.
- Analyze system performance and generate detailed commissioning reports.
- Provide technical guidance and training to plant operators and maintenance teams for a seamless transition to full-scale operations.
key Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline.
- Extensive experience in HZI boiler commissioning, combustion processes, and steam generation.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical and operational issues.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations, risk assessments, and compliance standards.
- 10+ years of experience in commissioning, operation, or maintenance of WTE boilers, biomass, or thermal power plants.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience, specifically with HZI grate moving boiler systems.
- Proven experience leading boiler commissioning, steam blows, combustion tuning, and performance optimization.
- Become familiar with mechanical completion walkdowns, chemical cleaning, and plant handover processes.
- Strong leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills.
- Open to international candidates with extensive experience in HZI grate moving boiler commissioning and startup.
