Key Responsibilities
As a Driller, you will be responsible for:
- Operating drilling rigs and associated machinery to extract core samples, groundwater, or to establish foundations.
- Interpreting drilling plans, specifications, and guidelines to execute operations efficiently.
- Monitoring and maintaining equipment to ensure safe and optimal performance.
- Conducting prestart checks and adhering to strict safety protocols during operations.
- Supervising and guiding drilling crew members to ensure productivity and compliance with project timelines.
- Identifying and resolving technical issues during drilling operations.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate reports and logs of drilling activities.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- Minimum two years of proven experience as a Driller in construction, mining, or geotechnical projects.
- Competency in operating drilling rigs and associated tools.
- Knowledge of drilling techniques and equipment maintenance.
- Familiarity with workplace safety regulations and ability to adhere to safety standards.
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to adapt to dynamic work environments.
- Effective communication and team management abilities.
- A valid driver's license (essential).
- Relevant certifications in drilling or construction (preferred but not mandatory).
