We invite applications from outstanding midwifery leaders for a joint appointment as Associate Professor / Professor of Midwifery (Level D/E).

This prestigious role will suit a highly regarded academic and clinician who is passionate about advancing midwifery research, education and evidence-based practice through strong clinical- academic collaboration.

The appointee will provide strategic leadership across Griffith University and Gold Coast Health, fostering excellence in research, teaching, policy development and clinical practice. You will work closely with midwifery, nursing and medical leaders, researchers, staff and students to deliver world-class outcomes that directly influence care delivery.

As a joint appointee, you will:

• Provide senior academic and clinical leadership in midwifery research, scholarship and practice across both organisations.
• Lead and conduct world-class, externally funded research that advances midwifery knowledge and improves health outcomes.
• Translate research into evidence-based clinical practice, policy development and workforce capability building.
• Strengthen collaborative research partnerships between clinicians, academics and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to teaching and supervision at undergraduate, honours and higher degree research levels.
• Maintain a strong and visible clinical presence, influencing practice within multidisciplinary teams at GCHHS.
• Support the strategic priorities of both Griffith University and Gold Coast Health.
• Promote compliance with research ethics, governance, health and safety, and professional standards.

This role carries significant responsibility for shaping the future of midwifery research, education and practice at both a local and international level.
