PLK Cuisine Pty Ltd trading as Bistro on the Greens is looking for a Chef and Cook to join the team at South Coogee Bowling Club. We are a busy restaurant and function venue serving high volume of modern Australian menu. This is a busy position and will require applicant who has previous experience in a similar role and cuisine. We value teamwork and are looking for a qualified and experienced Chefto join our team.
To be successful in this role you must have a minimum 2 years work experience in a busy kitchen environment. Completed Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification as well as knowledge of all kitchen operation, quality assurance and OH&S.
About the Role:
Your duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Create and prepare high-quality dishes with a focus on innovation and taste to provide unforgettable experience to customers.
Oversee kitchen operations and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
Slicing and dicing vegetables.
Slicing meat and chicken to correct portion sizes.
Preparing, seasoning, chicken, meat and fish.
Be able to use Grill, Pans, fries, Combi oven and char grill.
Make sure stock is rotated to reduce wastage and spoilage.
Knowledge of dietary requirement is a must.
Prevent cross contanisation of food.
Develop new menu recipes and upgrading existing menu to suite various function and dietary requirements.
Oversee kitchen operations and ensure compliance with OH&S standards
Maintain proper and standards of storage of various food items
Manage inventory, check stock level and order supplies
Check delivery and minimise wastage as well as control food costs.
Lead and inspire a team of kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences.
Train new staffs as required and rostering of the kitchen team
Maintain a clean, hygienic and organized kitchen environment
About you
The successful candidate must satisfy the following criteria:
- Minimum 2 years experience as a chef in a busy restaurant.
- Be passionate about the role to provide excellent customer service
- Strong knowledge of various cooking techniques and methods.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to work with team and under pressure during busy hours
- Culinary degree Certificate IV level or equivalent certification preferred.
Salaries will vary depending on qualification and experince: AUD 73,500 per year plus superannuation
