We are currently looking for an experienced, skilled chef/cook to work at our very busy café to prepare delicious meals according to our café menu. Salary: $73,150.00-$85,000.00 plus super and Visa Sponsorship available for right candidate.
This is a permanent full time position working 4-5 days a week (Monday to Friday & alternate weekend between 6.00am to 4pm).
The ideal candidate must be able to handle a fast-paced environment including all food preparation & cleaning during and at end of shifts ready for next morning service.
You must have a minimum of 1 years experience.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping & peeling vegetables, etc.) Cook food in various utensils or grillers
Ensure great presentation by dressing dishes before they are served
Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen
Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
Check quality of ingredients
Monitor stock and ensure there are no shortages of stock requirements
Requirements and skills:
- Proven experience as chef/cook
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Very good communication skills
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
