Good Cartel is hiring experienced chefs for immediate start across Chef de Partie / Senior CDP / Sous roles — and we also welcome applications from Head Chef–level operators who are open to stepping into senior roles within an established leadership structure.
We’re building a high-standard, systems-driven food business with a clear growth plan — steadily converting our menu to made-from-scratch across all departments.
This kitchen runs multiple work modes under one roof: fast, accurate service; large-batch prep and recipe production; and collaboration with our pastry/bakery and gelato teams. Depending on strengths, chefs may work primarily in one stream or operate across both.
We’re looking for long-term team members who want to grow with the business and contribute to a strong professional culture. We prefer candidates with a long time horizon, however we will consider 12-month appointments for highly skilled chefs where the fit is right.
You’ll be supported by an off-site Executive Chef and work alongside our current on-site Head Chef — this is about strengthening depth and raising standards, not a replacement hire. As the business expands, there is scope for increased responsibility and leadership progression after a proving period for the right people.
The Work (service + production — roles shaped to strengths)
Service Leadership
Run a section or lead shifts with speed, accuracy and strong standards
Drive mise en place, service execution and pass/expediting
Train and lift the team through calm, clear direction
Maintain organisation, cleanliness, and tight handovers
Production / Prep Leadership
Batch cooking and recipe production using modern commercial equipment
Portioning, vac-seal, labelling and storage systems
Consistency-focused prep for core menu items and signature components
Support peak service when required
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience at CDP / Senior CDP / Sous level (or higher)
Head Chef–level applicants are welcome if they can demonstrate leadership, standards and systems — and are comfortable being hands-on
Calm, firm, fair leadership — trains others and holds the line on quality
Comfortable working within systems and improving them
Currently in Australia and able to relocate to Broome
Available to start immediately or very soon

We have an established record using the Kimberley DAMA to secure excellent long-term talent. Sponsorship may be offered after probation / proving period under DAMA (Cook/Chef pathways), subject to eligibility and performance.
