We are looking for a passionate and hard working chef to join our growing team at The Warilla Hotel. Our Wholey Smoke Bistro serves up delicious dishes made with the freshest local produce, ingredients and smoking techniques. The suitable candidate will be passionate about producing great food, from smokehouse favourites and pub classics, to fresh and seasonal specials. Qualifications & Experience
Experience as a Chef is required
Experience in all sections including larder, fryers, pans and grill
Ability to work well under pressure and with high volumes
Understanding of stock control and waste minimisation
Knowledge of all kitchen procedures, food handling and workplace safety
Food safety certificate
Tasks & responsibilities
Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment
Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
Cooking of all sections, grill, pans, fryers and larder
Ensure appealing plate presentation
Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
This full time role will involve day, night and weekend work, over 4.5 days per week.
482 Visa sponsorship available after six months full time, for exceptional team members. We do not sponsor 186 Permanent Resident visas at the time.
