We are seeking a passionate, experienced Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team at a busy dining/catering establishment. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to take ownership of menu planning, food preparation, and quality control while contributing to a high-standard operation focused on fresh, quality ingredients.
Key Responsibilities Include
Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
Discussing food preparation issues with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and waiting staff
Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
Preparing and cooking food
Explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations
May select and train staff
May freeze and preserve foods
What We're Looking For
Proven experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment
Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards (HACCP or equivalent), and quality control
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team setting
Relevant qualification- Diploma in Commercial Cookery is highly regarded
