Surf N Turf Illawong (SnT) is expanding, and we’re looking for a talented Full-Time Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. SnT is a well‑loved food destination known for quality, consistency, and a welcoming atmosphere. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated chef to grow their career in a respected establishment.
Our restaurant operates six days a week, with:
Three nights – dinner service only
Three days – lunch and dinner service
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Management
Plan menus and contribute to seasonal updates
Calculate food and labour costs
Order and manage stock and supplies
Coordinate kitchen operations, including staff training and rostering
Manage budgets, supplier relationships, and overall kitchen efficiency
Food Preparation & Cooking
Prepare, season, and cook dishes to a high standard
Maintain consistency in quality, presentation, and portion control
Develop new dishes and contribute creative ideas to the menu
Hygiene & Safety
Implement and uphold all food safety, hygiene, and WHS regulations
Maintain a clean, organised, and compliant kitchen environment
Communication & Coordination
Work closely with management, kitchen staff, and front-of-house teams
Communicate effectively to ensure smooth and efficient service
Preferred Specialisation
Experience in Western cuisine will be highly regarded
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in a busy commercial kitchen
Work visa may be available for the right candidate
