We are a local cafe in Redfern where great food and great relationships drive everything we do. We are looking for an experienced Chef Manager who understands the business side of hospitality, and is just as comfortable driving profitability as they are running a busy morning service.
What You Will Do:
Run the Kitchen: Lead daily operations, run the pass during high-volume services, and ensure impeccable food quality and consistency.
Drive Profitability: Minimize wastage and strictly control the Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).
Evolve the Food: Improve the menu incrementally in line with customer expectations and market needs.
Maintain Standards: Manage daily/weekly operational checklists, ensuring strict adherence to WHS and food safety.
Lead by Example: Train and guide the kitchen team on the floor, working seamlessly with front-of-house.
What You Bring:
Experience: Trade Qualified Chef with proven experience as a Head Chef or Kitchen Manager in a high-volume cafe.
Business Savvy: A strong grasp of hospitality metrics, food pricing, and profitability.
Systems Mindset: You are highly organized and know that checklists and prep sheets are the secret to a smooth service.
Certification: Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
