THE LOUNGE AT AMAROO

Amaroo Retreat & Spa is a luxury 5-star boutique venue nestled in the Perth Hills, offering premium accommodation, a serene day spa, and an elevated dining experience at our onsite restaurant, The Lounge. Our restaurant delivers a contemporary, seasonal menu crafted with high-quality ingredients, complemented by an extensive cocktail, wine and spirits selection.

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join our small, dedicated kitchen team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with exceptional produce, contributes creative ideas, and takes pride in delivering beautifully presented dishes to a consistently high standard. You will value professionalism, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to enhancing the dining experience for our guests.

We are looking for someone who shares our standards, enjoys working in a small team, and is eager to contribute to the ongoing success and reputation of The Lounge.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Solid understanding of core cooking techniques and kitchen operations

• Strong communication and time-management skills

• Punctual, reliable, and well-organised

• Able to work effectively as part of a small, fast-paced team

• Able to remain calm and focused under pressure

• Consistent in food preparation and presentation, with strong attention to detail

• Committed to maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards

• Pastry and dessert experience is highly regarded (but not essential)

• Familiarity with COGS, menu input, and seasonal dish ideas is favourable

QUALIFICATIONS:

Completed an Apprenticeship or equivalent in Commercial Cookery

At least 1+ years’ experience in a similar role/style

You must have the legal right to work in Australia; however, we are open to sponsorship for the ideal applicant.

We are open to the general public as well as our in-house guests 7 days a week for breakfast, and 5 days a week for lunch and dinner. While weekend work will be required, the roster can be quite flexible and there is the possibility of rotating weekends off for the right candidate.

The Retreat is a 40 min drive east of the city (20 minutes from Midland) in the Perth Hills. There is very limited public transport so you must have your own reliable car.
