Join the Department of Anatomy & Physiology in an education-focussed role as a Clinical Anatomist, where you'll play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality anatomy education to postgraduate medical students and surgical trainees. Your responsibilities will include:
Teaching and Learning: Contribute to anatomy education, particularly the postgraduate Graduate Diploma in Surgical Anatomy, and undergraduate programs.
Curriculum Development: Evaluate and renew curriculum design and delivery in anatomy education within the Department.
Collaboration: Liaise with the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and coordinate clinical specialists involved in teaching and assessment.
Leadership: Provide leadership and foster excellence in research, teaching, and community engagement within the Department.
Service: Actively participate in departmental and faculty committees, contributing to activities and developments across the faculty.
You may be a great fit if:
You are an experienced Clinical Anatomist with a passion for teaching and a commitment to excellence in medical education, possessing strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with surgical specialists and academic colleagues.
You may also:
Possess a MBBS, an MD or a PhD in anatomy or a related field.
Have significant experience in teaching anatomy, particularly to postgraduate medical students and surgical trainees.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of curriculum design and delivery in anatomy education.
Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with diverse stakeholders.
Possess a proven track record of leadership and service in an academic or professional setting.

Your new team – Department of Anatomy and Physiology
The Department of Anatomy and Physiology is a highly successful teaching and research department within the School of Biomedical Sciences. We teach into the Bachelor of Biomedical Science and the Master of Biomedical Science through the delivery of subjects across the teaching disciplines of Anatomy, Cell & Developmental Biology, Neuroscience, and Physiology. Our teaching programs are widely recognised for their innovative approach and delivery, both through the development of online resources and in the use of student-focused, active learning approaches.
Our synergies in teaching extend beyond award programs to custom education programs focused on health professionals and industry. These programs are supported by our Anatomical Services Unit, one of the largest donor programs in the country, and our clinical networks in the Melbourne Biomedical Precinct.
