This is a rare opportunity to join a respected and growing Department of Geriatric Medicine within a large tertiary teaching hospital serving a population of approximately 300,000.

You will join:

There is also a clear strategic vision to develop an Older Person’s Emergency Department geriatrician role.

The Role
Aged Care services include:

• 106 inpatient beds across three sites

• 60 acute older persons’ beds
• 36 subacute GEM beds
• 10 behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia beds
• 12-bed GEM at Home service
• Orthogeriatric shared care (10–20 patients)
• Consultative inpatient services
• Outpatient clinics including:

• Memory
• Falls and balance
• Movement disorders
• Geriatric oncology
• Continence and pain

Optional participation in TAZREACH regional outreach clinics is available.
There are also opportunities to pursue research interests and contribute meaningfully to teaching.

Applicants must:

• Hold specialist registration; or
• Be an IMG on the specialist pathway; or
• Hold a recognised overseas specialist qualification with sufficient assessed experience
