Position Overview:
We are seeking a hard working, experienced and dynamic Cook for our culinary team. We are looking for a professional who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude, cares about their team and has a growth mindset. There is potential to grow in this role and within the group.
We would like a team-member who is passionate about producing great food, from pub classics to fresh & seasonal specials. If you take advantage of this terrific opportunity and are successful, you will work with a great team who aspire to produce consistent, quality meals, trading 7 days a week. The team also likes to have fun at work.
Our bistro can seat 600 guests and we also have a function room for 150-300 guests, so this venue is very busy and fast paced.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience as a Cook is required
Experience in all sections including larder, fryers, pans and grill
Ability to work well under pressure and with high volumes
Understanding of stock control and waste minimisation
Knowledge of all kitchen procedures, food handling and workplace safety
Food safety certificate
Tasks & responsibilities
Set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment
Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients
Cooking of all sections, including grill, pans, fryers and larder
Ensure appealing plate presentation
Slightly modify recipes to meet customers’ needs and requests (e.g. reduce salt, remove dairy)
Check freshness of food and discard out-of-date items
Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen area
This role will involve day, night and weekend work.
482 Visa sponsorship available after six months full time, for exceptional team members. We do not sponsor 186 Permanent Resident visas at the time.
