280-Cow Seasonal Autumn-Calving Dairy Farm

We are seeking a dedicated and motivated Herd Manager to join our team on our family-run, 280-cow autumn seasonal-calving dairy farm, located 5 minutes from Nathalia.

Our operation is an irrigated, pasture-based system (combination of flood and pivot irrigation). This is a long-term, full-time position with a 4-bedroom house provided on farm.

About the Role

Reporting to the farm owners, the successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of daily dairy operations, including:

• Herd management with a strong focus on animal health and welfare
• Milking in a 21-aside herringbone swing-over dairy
• Calf rearing
• Pasture management, feed allocation and monitoring
• Feeding out and machinery operation, care and maintenance
• Assisting with soil health and land management practices
• General farm duties

About You

We are seeking someone with a genuine passion for dairy farming. While skills can be learned, we require dairy experience.

You will have:

• A strong interest in herd management and health, calf rearing, and pasture/soil health
• An honest, reliable, and flexible work ethic
• Pride in your workplace and provided accommodation
• The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Confidence operating farm machinery (or willingness to learn)
• A current valid driver’s licence (required for operating vehicles and machinery on public roads)
• Full Australian work rights (visa sponsorship may be considered for strong candidates)
